Digital Video Map Generator (DVMG)

AN/GPA-134, FA16700, AN/TPX-42 

DVMG units displays digital map pictures on analog PPI displays. Digital map pictures are electronically generated maps superimposed onto the radar display (PPI) that depicts data used for air traffic surveillance.


DVMG units are supplied to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and to the Air Forces of Denmark (RDAF), Norway (RNAF) and USA USAF, where the first systems started operation in the 1980s. Since then, the system has undergone continued development and upgrade, recently in 2011.


Product classifications are known as: AN/GPA-134, FA16700, AN/TPX-42.
